Alba Sonora was founded in Bogotá, Colombia in 2002 to perform renaissance and baroque music from Europe and America. It´s repertoire includes works composed within a wide period of time, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, and it makes special emphasis on the dance music, villancicos, tonos humanos and songs from Spain and South America.
Alba Sonora has performed in many different important music halls from Colombia such as Auditori Teresa Cuervo del Museo Nacional de Colombia, Teatro Cristóbal Colón de Bogotá, Auditori Fabio Lozano of the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Museo de Arte Colonial and in Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. In 2008 Alba Sonora was chosen to take part in the music cycle "lunes de los jóvenes intérpretes" of the biblioteca Luis Angel Arango
