Dave Boyes is a British born/Madrid based singer/songwriter, who writes & records his own compositions in his home studio (actually a corner of his lounge) as well as gigging on the Madrid scene. Dave has been writing his own tunes, since he first went off travelling with his guitar & harmonica. Although he first learned to play guitar growing up from his parents who both loved to sing & play Bob Dylan & Beatles numbers among many others. While travelling Dave had a lot of time to play & the chance to meet, play and share ideas with people from all over the globe. This was a defining period in his musical development. The songs you can here on this page are taken from his 2010 debut L.P. "Outside" which was voted nº4 in "Top Demos" by the music magazine "Mondosonoro". His song "Outside" was featured on "Tour de Force 2" by Matchbox Recordings, a compilation of new indie music. He listens to & is influenced by many musical styles ranging from indie, rock, folk, psychedelic & blues to bossa nova, funk, jazz, electronic & world music. From a singer/songwriter perspective, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Neil Young and Elliott Smith are a constant source of inspiration. He is concerned about the state of this planet & is therefore a member of Greenpeace & tries to give his support to other organisations that help the underprivileged & protect mother earth.
