Pablo Giménez, born August 12 1978, begins his artistic career at the age of six in his hometown, San Lorenzo (Province of Santa Fe, Argentina). In his music, both his academic education and the knowledge acquired through being in touch with the popular music in his homeland live together in perfect harmony.
From 2001 to 2006 he studies the flute in the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina). He is self-demanding and carries on his education with prestigious teachers. He takes lyrical singing lessons with Milton Miller and flute lessons with Liliana Elechosa, Javier Valderrama and Claudio Barile, Principal Flute in the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra. He specializes in Andean wind instruments. He plays in chamber ensembles and choral, orchestral and world music groups.
He is often invited to important events, such as the Festival de Cosquín, which is the most important encounter of South American folklore (Córdoba, Argentina), the International Festival of Theatre and Music in Universidad Antonio Echeverría (La Habana) and the Mondial des Cultures in Drumondville (Québec) as the music director of the Argentinian delegation of musicians in 2003. In 2011 he participates in the International Chorinho Festival in Paris and the Karneval der Kulturen in Berlin. Awarded in national folklore contests, in 2004-2005 he obtains a grant from the General Consulate of Spain in Rosario to disseminate his work all over his country with the tango trio El Ajuste.
He has been living in Spain since 2006, where he starts his career with the Latin American folklore duo Rizotto Giménez; together they perform in Madrid, Murcia and Barcelona. In 2008 the well-known Chilean music Eulogio Davalos asks the duo to do the tribute concert to the famous Argentinian folklore composer Atahualpa Yupanqui in the International Guitar Contest Miquel Llobet in Barcelona. In 2010 he obtains the support of the programme DIVERSONS, run by Obra Social la Caixa, to tour Spain together with the reputed singer Sandra Rehder with the quartet Tangos del Arrabal

Since 2008 he has been musicalizing productions run by CULTURAL OFFICIAL INSTITUTIONS IN BARCELONA SUCH AS Bibioteques de Barcelona (the public library network) in Barcelona, Casa América Cataluña, Ateneu Barcelonés and Centres Civics de Barcelona (cultural community centres). He works as a flute, Andean wind instruments and singing teacher; he has taught in the Music School of Conservatori del Liceu de Barcelona and given the first Seminar of Argentinian Folkloric Music in the Conservatori Municipal de Terrassa. He travels around Spain as a member of the group Sakapatú giving didactic concerts of Andean and Afro-Peruvian music through an educational programme run by Obra Social La Caixa.
He is currently a member of Sakapatu, the Brazilian music group Choramingando, the Latin American folklore group Patio de tierra and Tangos de Arrabal. He has shared the stage with the famous Argentinian singers and songwriters León Gieco and Victor Heredia and recently with the trio Aca Seca in their latest concert in Barcelona (July 2011).
Among his most important current projects is the recording of a tribute to the famous Argentinian singer and songwriter Maria Helena Walsh, which counts on the support by Casa America Catalunya to be edited and distributed in Spain and Argentina.

Pablo Gimenez (12 de agosto de 1978) comienza su carrera a los seis años en su San Lorenzo natal, Santa Fe, Argentina. En su música conviven en virtuoso equilibrio la formación académica y el conocimiento adquirido en el contacto cotidiano con la música popular de su tierra.
Entre 2001 y 2006 estudia flauta travesera en la Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Exigente, prosigue su formación con prestigiosos maestros. Toma clases de canto lírico con el célebre Milton Miller; de flauta con Liliana Elechosa, Javier Valderrama y Claudio Barile, primer flautista de la filarmónica Nacional. Se especializa en instrumentos aerófonos andinos. Es intérprete en grupos camarísticos, corales, orquestales y de músicas del mundo.
Con frecuencia es invitado a importantes eventos, entre ellos, al Festival de Cosquín (Córdoba, Argentina), principal foro de folclore Sudaméricano, al Festival Internacional de Teatro y Música de la Universidad Antonio Echeverría (La Habana) y al Mundial de las Culturas de Drummondville (Québec, Canadá) como Director musical de la delegación de músicos argentinos en 2003. En 2011 actúa en el Festival internacional del Chorinho de Paris y en el Karneval der Kulturen de Berlín. Premiado en certámenes nacionales de folklore, en 2004-2005 es becado por el Consulado General de España en Rosario para difundir su trabajo con el trío de tangos "El Ajuste" por diversos puntos del país.
Reside en España desde 2006. Su trayectoria en este país se inicia en el Dúo de folklore latinoamericano Rizzotto-Gimenez con el que se presenta en Madrid, Murcia y Barcelona. En 2008 el popular músico chileno Eulogio Dávalos, convoca al Dúo para realizar el concierto homenaje a Atahualpa Yupanqui en el Certamen Internacional de la Guitarra "Miquel Llovet". En 2010 obtiene el soporte del programa DIVERSONS de Obra Social La Caixa, para salir de gira por España junto a Sandra Rehder con el cuarteto "Tangos del arrabal".
Con el grupo de música folklórica Maitén, graba "Con Alma joven" y más tarde "A cantar" (1999, Columbia-Sony Music Entertainment Argentina) de gran repercusión nacional y regional. En 2008 graba "El paso del tiempo" (Rizzotto-Gimenez) y en 2010 "Choriterrâneo" con la formación de música brasileña Choramingando.
Desde 2008 musicaliza producciones programadas por Bibliotecas de Barcelona, Casa América Cataluña, Ateneu Barcelonés y Centros Cívicos. Profesor de flauta travesera, instrumentos aerófonos andinos y canto, ha sido docente de la Escuela de Música del Conservatorio del Liceu y dictado el primer Seminario de Música folklórica Argentina en el Conservatorio Municipal de Terrassa. Con "Sakapatú" recorre España con conciertos didácticos de música andina y afro-peruana a través del Programa Educativo de Obra Social La Caixa.
Actualmente es parte de "Sakapatú", el grupo de música brasileña "Chorimangando", "Patio de Tierra", de folclore latinoamericano y "Tangos de Arrabal". Ha compartido escenario con León Gieco, Victor Heredia y recientemente con el Trío "Aca Seca" durante su último concierto en Barcelona en julio de 2011.
Entre sus proyectos en curso, destaca la grabación de un disco homenaje a la cantautora argentina María Elena Walsh que cuenta con el apoyo de Casa América Catalunya para su edición y distribución en España y Argentina.
